Light in the Darkness of Master Data Management – ContentServ 18 for Neuco

As the Swiss market leader, Neuco AG based in Zürich creates unique lighting solutions of the highest standard – for retail, gastronomy, offices, residential buildings, museums, churches and private properties. The lighting artists adopt a clear philosophy: Rather than the light source, the sole focus is on its effect. With the migration of ContentServ 18.0, a&f systems ag shows the PIM and MAM management of Neuco in the best light.

The starting point

In the past, Neuco worked with Contentserv version 14. The objective was the migration to version 18.0. Contentserv is a product information management system used by suppliers to prepare product information for target groups. Thus, the company can record and manage its product data, create and publish content for marketing campaigns, integrate suppliers in business processes, present product information in the right form and edited for each target group (e.g. on a website), while monitoring all activities and interactions with customers. In short: Contentserv is the hub for all steps in the customer journey.

The solution

The successful migration to Contentserv version 18 provides completely new opportunities for Neuco AG. As part of the gradual introduction of latest version of the PIM system, the server environment and resource allocation were also optimised.

The challenge

The big difference between the PHP versions of CS 14 and CS 18 posed a particular challenge. Consequently, the full update had to be split up into smaller steps, and each stage tested separately. With this purposeful preparation and consideration of the special requirements and special developments, the final migration was then carried out within a single weekend.

«We can always rely on a&f systems to support us with great expertise and outstanding commitment. We do not take this for granted and appreciate it greatly.»

Pascal Läubli, Head of Marketing, Neuco AG

Conclusion

Rather than the source of the improvement, its effect alone was crucial for the successful completion of the project. At least, this is one way to summarise the migration of the product information system in line with the Neuco philosophy. After all, the decisive factor is not the specific product, version or system that a&f systems employs on behalf of the customer. The daily added value achieved is far more important.
