Backup solution for CAS GRUPPE AG – greater security and less effort
For some time now, it has been widely accepted that a functioning backup infrastructure is crucial. All IT projects now include the protection of important data. CAS GRUPPE AG relies on reliable backup – together with a&f systems ag.
Up to now, CAS GRUPPE AG backed up its systems and data locally on a hard drive. This meant manually changing the backup drive and sometimes even storing it off the premises. The annual backup was manually transferred to hard drive. Controls took place only infrequently. The new backup concept needs to be up to date and meet current requirements. Data backups are to be monitored and documented continuously, fully automatically, effectively and locally in a Swiss computer centre.
Green Datacenter – secure and monitored
Together with CAS GRUPPE AG, a&f systems ag is developing the new backup concept in accordance with its standard. CAS is now relying on the a&f Community Cloud, and therefore on the Green Datacenter in Zurich-West. The backup is fully and reliably monitored with PRTG monitoring software. The systems and data are effectively backed up to a local disc on a Synology-NAS (Network Attached Storage). Backup housing is used for disaster backups to the a&f Community Cloud in the Green Datacenter. This data centre does not store customer data in a standard central cloud backup, but backs up data to individual, dedicated backup hardware instead. This enables CAS GRUPPE AG to quickly access the data in emergencies, such as the breakdown of local infrastructure. The backup responsibilities have been clearly defined. Disaster testing also takes place at least once a year.
