With the transition of Basler Zeitung, all payable Swiss-German media from Tamedia now produce their editions with the Enterprise Aurora editing system by WoodWing.
This year saw the successful transition of Zürcher Regionalzeitungen (ZRZ) and Basler Zeitung (BaZ) to Enterprise Aurora. That means that all paid Tamedia newspapers for German-speaking Switzerland now produce their editions with the WoodWing editing system. Thus far, the project involves 13 titles producing their editions with WoodWing Aurora. With the transition of 20 minutes in Western Switzerland, the first free newspaper followed suit in the summer of 2019. The other titles will be added in the course of the year.
Basler Zeitung and A&F
Even before it was taken over by Tamedia, BaZ worked with A&F Computersysteme AG. Basler Zeitung has already implemented WoodWing Enterprise and Elvis. In late March 2019, BaZ transitioned to WoodWing Enterprise Aurora and Elvis DAM, also allowing it to utilise the digital editor of the editing system.
ZRZ – One editing system for all regional editions
The A&F team provided on-site production support for the different editorial teams of both, BaZ and ZRZ. Especially for Zürcher Regionalzeitungen, the individual regional editions gave rise to additional requirements. However, each of the editorial teams was successfully included in the new system, and they all work consistently and harmoniously.
Strictly content first
With WoodWing Enterprise Aurora, the editorial teams can consistently produce in accordance with the ‘Digital first’ principle. The workflow is centred on media-neutral content recording. The same story can be enriched with image or video material for web publication, or adapted for print and automatically loaded in InDesign. Aurora is browser-based and therefore not dependent on a device. It is supported by Elvis DAM which acts as group-wide asset management and archiving system.
